Description:

This lesson discusses the responsibilities of those involved in transporting students with special needs. It also addresses the use of wheelchair lifts and appropriate procedures for loading and securing ambulatory and nonambulatory students on a bus.

Objectives:

RECALL bus operator, attendant, parent/caregiver, and teacher responsibilities when loading and unloading students with special needs.

RECALL wheelchair lift components, safety features, and use guidelines.

RECALL proper procedures for loading and unloading ambulatory and nonambulatory students.

RECALL proper procedures for loading and unloading ambulatory and nonambulatory students.

A minimum score of 70 is required to pass a test or graded assignment. Successful completion of all content, test and/or written assignments, and surveys is required to earn CEUs.
