This lesson discusses the benefits of, and responsibilities for, establishing effective communication with difficult parents. Parental mind-sets and personality traits that hinder effective communication are identified, and methods and techniques for overcoming communication barriers are discussed.

RECALL Transitional Analysis ego states and how they can affect communication.
RECALL benefits of, and responsibilities for, establishing effective communication with parents.
IDENTIFY parental mind-sets and personality traits that hinder effective communication.
IDENTIFY methods and techniques for overcoming communication barriers.
A minimum score of 70 is required to pass a test or graded assignment. Successful completion of all content, test and/or written assignments, and surveys is required to earn CEUs.
