Stages of Cognitive Development in Infants

Description:

This lesson discusses cognitive developmental skills of infants from birth to 18 months. It discusses encouraging cognitive development through activities and play. It stresses the importance of recognizing cognitive developmental delays and provides general guidelines for communicating with families when developmental delay is suspected.

Objectives:

RECALL cognitive developmental skills of infants.

RECALL activities and toys that encourage cognitive development in infants.

RECALL indications of cognitive developmental delays.

RECALL general guidelines for communicating with families regarding developmental delays.

A minimum score of 70 is required to pass a test or graded assignment. Successful completion of all content, test and/or written assignments, and surveys is required to earn CEUs.
