This lesson details the difference between an emergency and a disaster, as well as the different types that can occur. It also helps child care providers learn how to prepare for emergencies and disasters. This lesson presents ways to shelter-in-place, lockdown, and evacuate. How to keep parents informed before, during, and after emergencies and disasters is also discussed.
