This course discusses potential hazards commercial motor vehicle drivers encounter on the road and techniques for avoiding possible emergency situations. It emphasizes hazard recognition, visual search, adequate surveillance and response to possible emergency-producing situations encountered during CMV operation. It also discusses potential dangers and safety procedures that must be utilized while driving in construction/work zones.
Objectives:
RECALL common road hazards posed by road conditions and other road users.
RECALL procedures and techniques for staying safe while driving through work zones.
