Description:
This lesson defines key medical terminology associated with first aid and discusses methods for handling common injuries and other medical emergencies, including levels of consciousness and the ABCs of first aid: airway, breathing, and circulation. This lesson also discusses bloodborne pathogens and protective measures to take when dealing with them.
Objectives:
RECALL definitions of important medical terms.
IDENTIFY appropriate methods and procedures for determining first aid requirements for injuries and other medical emergencies.
IDENTIFY levels of consciousness and characteristics of each level.
IDENTIFY types of bloodborne pathogens, methods of transmission, and protective measures.
A minimum score of 70 is required to pass a test or graded assignment. Successful completion of all content, test and/or written assignments, and surveys is required to earn CEUs.
