Description:
This unit discusses traumatic and non-traumatic emergencies, levels of consciousness, and procedures to deal with bleeding. The effects of stress and coping strategies for stress are also discussed. In addition, this unit describes types of shock, actions to determine the degree of respiratory distress, and actions and to deal with respiratory distress. Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD) procedures are also described.
